WASHINGTON, D.C. – American University women's soccer (1-4-6, 0-3-2 Patriot League) dropped its Saturday afternoon contest, 1-0, to the Boston University Terriers (8-6-0, 4-1-0 Patriot League) at Reeves. After a defensive battle in the first half, the Terriers found the back of the net in the second half to head back to Boston with the win.

  • Sophomore Brooke Steel gave American one more chance in the first half to take the lead but her shot was stopped by the Terrier's goalkeeper to send the game into halftime tied 0-0.
  • The Terriers took the first shot of the second half, looking for the back of the net, but Kato was there to make the save.
  • A few minutes later, in the 59th minute, it was the visitors who broke through and took a 1-0 lead.
  • American had a good chance in the 83rd minute to even the score off a corner kick. Graduate student Asia Horne's header just missed the mark, going just over the top of the net to keep the score 1-0 and give Boston U. the Saturday afternoon win.
