They'll host Navy at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28. AU is holding a Food Drive in conjunction with the match, and asking fans to donate using the boxes provided in the Bender Arena lobby.

FOOD DRIVE
ENHANCED CONCESSIONS AT BENDER ARENA
- AU Athletics has partnered with Gregorio's Trattoria to provide an enhanced concessions menu for all home volleyball matches this season in Bender Arena.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- American leads the all-time series with Navy, 51-5.
- The Eagles won both meetings in 2021, but the Mids beat AU on their home court earlier this season, 3-1.
- In the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, the teams split matches.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN
- The Eagles are looking to turn things around as they continue the second half of Patriot League play after going 4-7 so far.
- AU has dealt with a rash of injuries, including to Preseason Player of the Year Zeynep Uzen who played last weekend after missing nearly five matches. Junior middle blocker Katie Putney missed nearly six matches before returning.
- In a 3-0 loss to Colgate on Oct. 21, Uzen had a strong comeback with a match-high 14 kills to go with 10 digs. She leads AU and ranks second in the PL with 4.18 kills per set.
- Uzen's efforts last weekend moved her into the top 10 all-time at American, and she currently has 1,138 kills to rank 10th in program history.
- Graduate student Carlie Fikse is sixth in the PL with a hitting percentage of .294 and also sixth with 0.91 blocks per set.
- Head coach Barry Goldberg, featured last week in the Washington Post, has 809 wins in his 34th season and ranks fourth among active D1 coaches.
SCOUTING NAVY
- Navy began the season with a 2-6 record in its first eight matches, but have since gone 9-3 and currently stand in third place in the Patriot League with an 8-3 PL record.
- Averi Miller leads the PL with 9.92 assists per set and Maddie Bodman ranks second in the PL with a hitting percentage of .321. Anna Klemeyer and Bodman rank fourth and fifth with 0.98 and 0.97 blocks per set, respectively.
- Twins Jamie and Jordan Llewellyn rank sixth and seventh with 3.34 kills per set and 3.31 kills per set, respectively.
- Head coach Paco Labrador is in his fifth season at the helm with a record at Navy of 66-44. He led the Mids to the program's first Patriot League Tournament title in his first season (2018) in Annapolis.
