WASHINGTON - After a 1-1 week for American University women's basketball that included a win in the Eagles' Patriot League opener, senior Taylor Brown has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 3-9.

Brown averaged 14 points and five rebounds per game, shooting 44 percent from the field and coming up with four steals. All four of those steals came in AU's 66-52 win over Colgate on Jan. 5, as Brown also scored 13 points and grabbed four boards. In American's loss at Boston University, Brown led the Eagles with 15 points and six rebounds.

American will return to Bender Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 12 to host Holy Cross at 6 p.m.
