WASHINGTON - Junior transfer David Coly of men's soccer has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for a third time this year after leading the Eagles in their two NCAA Tournament games the week of April 26-May 2.

Coly finished the season with a six-game scoring streak, including the first goals for American in both a 3-3 tie vs. Jacksonville in the NCAA First Round and a 2-1 loss to No. 1 Clemson in the NCAA Second Round. He scored seven goals in all in 2020-21, and his 0.75 goals per game average ranks 11th in NCAA Division I. No Eagle has achieved that scoring streak since at least 2001. Only three Eagles since 2001 have even scored a goal in three straight games.

Coly is the final winner for this year. The award will resume in August.
