WASHINGTON - For a second time this season, American University women's basketball's Jade Edwards has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week. The Eagles picked up a 62-58 road win at Longwood in their only contest, and now stand at 7-3 overall.

Edwards just missed out on her second double-double of the year with 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds. She added five steals on the day to tie her career high, and also dished three assists. Edwards hit 6-of-9 shots from the field and went 3-of-3 at the line.

American will close its nonconference schedule on Tuesday with a 1 p.m. tip at Howard.
