WASHINGTON - After helping lead American University men's basketball to a 2-0 week, senior forward Connor Nelson has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of December 6-12. The Eagles posted wins over both Saint Francis and Mount St. Mary's.

Nelson averaged 13.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game for the week. He scored 12 points and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds vs. Saint Francis and followed it up with a season-high 15 points a in 72-66 overtime win at Mount St. Mary's. For the week, he hit 10-of-16 from the field (.625), 2-of-3 from long range (.667) and totaled six assists, three steals and two blocks. 

American will play one last non-conference road game at George Mason on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
