WASHINGTON - After two fantastic performances in leading American University men's basketball to a 2-0 start in the 2021-22 season, senior Stacy Beckton Jr. has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 8-14.

In a 77-73 overtime win vs. Marist in the season opener, Beckton scored 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. Later in the week, Beckton scored a game-high 24 points in the Eagles' 74-62 win at William & Mary and did not miss a shot in the second half, going 6-for-6.

Beckton added a game-high nine rebounds at William & Mary. For the week, he totaled 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

The Eagles continue a stretch of contests away from Bender Arena with a game against Georgetown on Tuesday, Nov. 16. Tip-off at Capital One Arena is set for 8:30 p.m.
