WASHINGTON - With a pair of impressive performances in the opening weekend of 2020-21 for American University men's basketball, senior Stacy Beckton Jr. has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 11-17.

Beckton showed no signs of rust after AU had its first two weekends of play postponed. The senior led the Eagles with career-highs in points (30), field goals (10), and three-pointers (five) in the season opener at Navy, which the Eagles ultimately lost 87-86 in overtime. One day later, he reached double figures yet again as he scored 12 points to go along with three steals and three rebounds.

The Eagles will be back in action vs. Loyola Maryland at noon on Saturday, Jan. 23.
