Sa'eed Nelson from becoming the all-time leading scorer in American University men's basketball history and breaking a record held by Russell "Boo" Bowers that has stood for 39 years. The stage for history is set as American welcomes Lafayette to Bender Arena on Wednesday night in a game with huge Patriot League Tournament seeding stakes on the line.

- Sa'eed now stands at 2,055 career points, just two points away from becoming American's all-time leading scorer and breaking a 39-year-old school record.
- Looking at the Patriot League scoring list, Sa'eed moved into fourth place on Saturday night after passing Mike Muscala of Bucknell and Tim Kempton of Lehigh.
- He has a chance to move up to third soon, as only 20 points separate Sa'eed from Tucker Neale of Colgate.
- Sa'eed now stands at 509 assists and passed Mike Sampson (1984-1988) to move into third place on AU's career assists list.

- Sa'eed Nelson has been a man on a mission, scoring 20-plus points in his last five games to move into second place on AU's all time scoring list, just two points away from first place.
- Sa'eed is the only active NCAA D-I men's basketball player, and the first in Patriot League history, to have 2,000 career points, 500 career rebounds, and 500 career assists
- On defense, Sa'eed grabbed eight steals against the Terriers, becoming the only D-I men's player to have eight steals in two different games this season.

- With junior guard Justin Jaworski out with a torn ACL, two freshman stepped up on Sunday, as Leo O'Boyle and Neal Quinn set season-bests with 21 and 17 points, respectively.
- The Leopards lead the PL by holding opponents to 42.1 percent shooting and average 4.3 blocks/game.
