WASHINGTON -- American University men's basketball will be looking to extend its three-game winning streak when they head up to Lewisburg to take on Bucknell inside the always-rowdy Sojka Pavilion on Saturday afternoon. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

• American won a heart-stopping, last-second game in Bender Arena last month.
• Bucknell has won 24 of 32 meetings in Lewisburg, with AU's last win coming on Jan. 2, 2014.
• The last time AU has won three straight games in the series was from Feb. 13, 2008 to Feb. 11, 2009. The Eagles have won the last two meetings. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN

• The Eagles are flying high with three straight wins, including an 81-76 win over Loyola on Wednesday night.
• Sa'eed Nelson went 8-of-9 from the free-throw line on his way to 22 points, the sixth time in his last eight games that he's reached the 20-point marker. Nelson added four steals and five rebounds, as well.
• Five Eagles scored in double-figures, the first time that's happened since the last time AU played Loyola on Jan. 22, 2020.
• Jamir Harris leads the Patriot League in free-throw percentage (93.0), going 4-of-4 from the line on Wednesday. He is also currently first in single-season FT percentage at AU.
• The Eagles are among the PL leaders in several categories, including steals (1st, 7.5), turnover margin (2nd, +0.96), and blocks (3rd, 3.5/game).
• American currently sits in a tie for second place in the Patriot League standings at 9-4 after Boston University fell to Colgate on Monday.

MILESTONE WATCH

• Sa'eed Nelson now stands at 1,980 career points, three away from passing Willie Jones (1957-60) and moving into third place on AU's career scoring list. To move into first place, Sa'eed now needs 77 points.
• To reach 2,000 career points and become just the third Eagle to do so, Sa'eed needs 20 points. 
• Sa'eed now stands at 499 assists and needs seven helpers to pass Mike Sampson (1984-1988) and move into third place on AU's career assists list. 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT BUCKNELL

• After opening the conference slate with a 5-3 mark, Bucknell has dropped five straight league games, including a narrow one-point loss to Navy on Wednesday.
• Andrew Funk opened the game with 13 straight points and ended the night with 20 against the Midshipmen. 
• As a team, Bucknell ranks second in the PL in blocks (3.6/game) and steals (7.2/game)
• The Bison are solid from beyond the arc, ranking third in the PL with 8.0 threes/game.
• John Meeks leads four Bison averaging double-figures in scoring with 11.9 ppg. Meeks also leads the team with 5.3 rpg.
• Walter Ellis ranks second in the league in 3-point percentage, making 41.7 percent from long range.
