WASHINGTON - American University men's basketball welcomes local rival Loyola University Maryland for the 98th installment of the series on Wednesday night inside Bender Arena with a chance to move into second place in the Patriot League standings on the line.

• American earned a hard-fought 93-91 overtime win over Loyola last month.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT AMERICAN

• The Eagles have won three of their last four games after topping Navy and Army last week.
• Stacy Beckton Jr. had the best performance of his career, grabbing his first double-double of the season with a career-high 19 points and season-best 11 boards.
• Sa'eed Nelson stepped his game up on Senior Day, scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds in front of his family. 
• A game after being held scoreless, Connor Nelson found his shot against Army, scoring 17 points on 5-of-7 from deep. 
• Jamir Harris leads the Patriot League in free-throw percentage (92.5), going 5-for-6 from the line on Saturday. He is also currently first in single-season free-throw percentage at AU.

• Loyola is currently riding a three-game winning streak after beating Bucknell at home on Saturday.
• The Greyhounds have been sparked by current Patriot League Rookie of the Week Santi Aldama's return from injury, as he averaged 11 ppg in last week's wins. 
• Andrew Kostecka, who scored 32 points in the first matchup this season, leads the league in scoring with 21.0 ppg. He also leads the team with 5.3 rpg. 
• Kevaughn Scott shoots an efficient 59.5 percent from the field to lead the team.
• Kenneth Jones leads the league by shooting 43.4 percent from three-point range.
