Men's Soccer Hosts Lehigh on Doug Dugan and Alumni Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American University men's soccer team returns to Reeves Field for to open Patriot League play on Saturday against Lehigh at 2 p.m. 

Game Notes

  • American returns to reeves Field after two weeks on the road in North Carolina and California. American is looking for its first win of the season as it begins Patriot League play.
  • In goal, Jake Agnew posts a 1.82 goals against average this season heading into Patriot League play.
  • Malachy McGovern has the lone goal for American this season. Tim Neumann and Fabio Massaro each have an assist. 
  • All men's soccer alumni in attendance will be honored at halftime, with a special celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the 1979 team that reached the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Doug Dugan Award will be presented in a postgame ceremony in the Mary Graydon Center (Room 2). The cost to attend is $15 and includes a buffet meal, award presentation and special gift for attendees. The award is given annually to the AU men's soccer player who embodies the attitudes and attributes of leadership and excellence. Chosen by fellow teammates and the coaching staff, the awardee will have shown dedication to the team, a determined work ethic and a selfless spirit that lifts his teammates to their optimal level.

Lehigh Scout

  • Lehigh enters the contest with a 3-2 record and is coming off a late loss to Binghamton on Tuesday. 
  • Josh Luchini leads the Mountain Hawks with four goals and eight points in five games. Trevor Koski is second with two goals and five points. 
  • In goal, Will Smith is tied for second in the PL with a 0.80 goals against average and fourth in save percentage.
