Women's Soccer Travels to Boston on Saturday

WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team open Patriot League play on Saturday with a road meeting against the defending champs from Boston University.

Pregame Notes

  • Fisayo Iluyomade leads the Eagles in goals with four and points with eight.
  • Six of American's eight goals this season have come from underclassmen. Outside of Iluyomade's four goals, classmate Alysa Vazquez and sophomore Keelin Ferris have also found the back of the net.
  • American is allowing 1.25 goals against per game with keepers Morgan Lang and Amy Krotine both under the team average of goals allowed. Lang leads the team with 17 saves on 20 shots on goal. Lang needs one more save for her 100th career save as an Eagle.

Boston Scout

  • The Terriers are looking for their third win of the seasons after dropping five of the first six decisions.
  • Boston has scored four goals in eight games with all four tallies coming from different players. 
  • Morgan Messner and Amanda Fay have each played in four games this year with nearly identical stats. Messner has a 1.61 goals against average and 24 saves while fay is at 1.68 GAA and 23 saves.
