WASHINGTON - The American University Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce its annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) celebration, presented by official game sponsor CareFirstBlue Cross Blue Shield, for Saturday, January 11, during the women's basketball game against Patriot League foe, Lehigh. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. with a clinic immediately following the game.
Following the game, five of American's seven varsity women's teams --Â basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball -- along with the wrestling team, and cheer and dance squads will lead skills clinics and sign autographs for kids of all ages in attendance on the floor of Bender Arena. The clinic is free for all with game ticket and children are asked to wear athletic shoes.
