WASHINGTON - After a pair of strong individual performances in a 1-1 week for American University men's basketball, sophomore Jacob Boonyasith was named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week.

Boonyasith came one rebound shy of his first career double-double in the Eagles Dec. 26 win vs. Howard, leading AU with a career-high nine rebounds to go with 13 points. He scored 14 points in AU's loss at Albany later in the week. Overall, Boonyasith hit 11-of-21 field goals for the week (.524) including 5-of-11 three-pointers (.455).

AU will be back at home hosting UMBC at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
