ALBANY, N.Y. — Jacob Boonyasith finished with 17 points, but a hot-shooting Siena squad led early and picked up a 96-80 win over the American University men's basketball team in the season-opener on Tuesday. 

Postgame Notes

• Jamir Harris finished with a team-best 20 points in his Eagles debut. Harris knocked down 4-of-6 from the outside in 30 minutes.
• Boonyasith connected on 6-of-7 from the field with three rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes. 
• Stacy Beckton Jr. finished with a team-best five rebounds and added 14 points. 
• In his debut with American, Connor Nelson all of his dropped 11 points in the second half. 
• Siena was led by Jalen Pickett with 22 points. The Saints also had four players in double figures. Elijah Burns had 19 points, Donald Carey Jr. added 17 and Manny Camper had 14. 
• The hosts made 11-of-21 from the outside with eight coming in the opening half. 
• American trailed 54-31 at the half but powered back to cut Siena's lead to as little as 16 (63-47) after a 10-0 run with Connor Nelson driving on a fast break.
