WASHINGTON
- In a game moved up due to conflicts at Albany, the American University men's basketball team will face the Great Danes at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30. The Eagles (2-3) are back on the road after winning at home vs. Howard earlier this week, while Albany (4-3) is coming off back-to-back wins at a Quinnipiac tournament.

  • AU is 2-3 so far and is coming off an 86-69 win vs. Howard at home earlier this week.
  • Senior guard Sa'eed Nelson scored 25 points to lead AU to victory over the Bison and jump into fifth place all-time on the Eagles' career points list with 1,662 (13th among active D1 players).
  • Jamir Harris, who hit 6-of-9 three-pointers at Saint Francis, averages 14.4 ppg and has hit 12-of-13 free throws.
  • The Eagles lead the PL with 75.8 ppg and 4.4 blocks per game. They rank second in the league with 47.2 % FG shooting and 38.3 % 3-point FG shooting.
  • In addition to Nelson and Harris, two others also average in double figures in scoring for AU. Jacob Boonyasith, who grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to lead the Eagles vs. Howard, is averaging 12.6 ppg. Stacy Beckton Jr. has a team-best 6.2 rpg to go with 11.2 ppg.
  • The Eagles currently rank second in the PL in three statistical categories: 73.2 ppg, 45.4 percent field-goal shooting and 39.5 percent three-point field-goal shooting. The Eagles lead all teams in the PL with 4.3 blocks per game.
  • American was picked third in the PL Preseason Poll. The Eagles finished the 2018-19 season tied for fourth.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES

  • Cameron Healy leads the team with 18 ppg and 2.9 apg. He's hit 21-of-51 from behind the arc (.412).
  • The Great Danes went 12-20 last year but it was the only time since 2014 that Albany had not reached 20 wins. The Great Danes went to the NCAA Tournament in 2014-15, the CBI Tournament in 2015-16 and the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in 2016-17.

ALL-TIME SERIES

  • AU and Albany have met just twice before, and not in nine years. The last meeting was a 57-44 win for American in Albany on Nov. 15, 2010. The Great Danes edged AU in Washington a year before that, 51-50.
