WASHINGTON
- Coming off an exciting, buzzer-beating win at George Washington earlier this week, the American University men's basketball team hopes to keep the momentum going in a game at Saint Francis (Pa.) on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. The Eagles (1-2) last faced the Red Flash (1-2) two years ago.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • Sa'eed Nelson hit a buzzer-beating, game-winning jumper to lift the Eagles to a 67-65 win at GW earlier this week.
  • Nelson, averaging 21 points per game through two games, ranks 12th among active NCAA D1 players with 1,622 career points, and seventh all-time at AU.
  • In his American debut, Jamir Harris led the Eagles with a team-best 20 points at Siena in the season opener on Nov. 5. 
  • Sophomore Jacob Boonyasith has had a strong start to the season and is tied with Harris for second on the team in scoring at 13.7 points per game.
  • Also averaging in double figures is Stacy Beckton Jr. with 11.3 ppg along with a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game.
  • American was picked third in the PL Preseason Poll. The Eagles finished the 2018-19 season tied for fourth.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
  • Like AU, Saint Francis also went 0-2 before winning its first game. The Red Flash are coming off a 71-65 victory at Morgan State earlier this week.
  • In the win, Myles Thompson scored a career-high 17 points and added seven rebounds while Keith Braxton recorded game-highs with 20 points and nine rebounds.
  • Saint Francis shared the NEC 2018-19 regular-season title with Fairleigh Dickinson, its first regular-season championship since 1990-91, and earned a berth in the NIT for the first time since 1958.
ALL-TIME SERIES
  • AU leads Saint Francis 12-8 all-time, and won 95-82 in last season's meeting at home.
  • The teams last met in DeGol Arena in 2017 where Saint Francis won 100-89 on Nov. 29, 2017. 
  • AU trails 6-4 in games played in Loretto.
UP NEXT
  • The Eagles will have 10 days off before their next game, a return home that has them facing local rival Howard at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
