WASHINGTON - After leading men's cross country to a team title at Lafayette's Leopard Invitational on Oct. 19, American University freshman Russell Sullivan has been named the AU Athletics GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week. 

Sullivan led a group of four Eagles who swept the top four spots in the men's 6K race as AU defeated Patriot League foes Bucknell and Lafayette along with Saint Joseph's. The win, in a time of 25:36.8, was the first of Sullivan's career, and the team title was the first for AU this season.

This meet served as a preview for the Eagles as they prepare for the Patriot League Championships in Hamilton, N.Y., on November 2.
