Women's Soccer Hosts Navy In Home Finale

WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team hosts Navy on Wednesday afternoon at Reeves Field. 

Game Notes
  • After torrential rain swept through The District over the weekend and on Tuesday, the Eagles will look to upset the Midshipmen on a soggy Reeves Field with American desperately needing a win to stay in postseason contention.
  • American is coming off a 3-1 deficit to Army West Point on Saturday after going unbeaten in the previous three games. 
  •  Emily Smith has goals in three of her last six games and is second on the team in goals and points with seven. 
  • Ryleigh Brown and Morgan Lang split time in goal on Saturday and made five combined saves. 
Scouting Navy
  • Heading into Wednesday's contest, Navy sits in first place in the Patriot League with a 13-2-1 overall mark and a 4-1-1 record in the PL. 
  • Baseley McClaskey leads the Mids with 11 points on three goals and five assists.
  • Carolyn Mang tops the squad with four goals as a reserve player, making just three starts in 16 appearances. 
  • Sydney Fortson has started in 13 of 16 games this season for the Mids allowing seven goals in 1,200 minutes of play.
