Men's Soccer Falls to No. 21 Navy, 4-0

WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer team fell to No. 21 Navy, 4-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Reeves Field. 

Postgame Notes

  • American had a chance in the opening minutes of play as Alameen Salako hit the post on a hard drilled shot from outside the box. 
  • Navy's Jacob Williams led the Midshipmen with two goals and an assist. Nicko West finished with a goal and an assist. 
  • Navy took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on a shot by Joe Alex to the low right corner. 
  • Williams scored his first of the afternoon in the 34th minute with an assist by Ethan Singer. 
  • Williams added his second goal 49 seconds into the second half with a chip shot over Jake Agnew
  • Oscar McConnell had a great chance for American in the 54th minute with a penalty kick that was stopped by Ian Bramblett.
  • West added Navy's fourth goal from Williams in the 69th minute.
  • Navy finished the contest with a 6-5 advantage in shots. 
  • Agnew had one save in the loss.
  • Bramblett recorded his eighth shutout of the season with one save.
