WASHINGTON - With just over two minutes to go before the game would have gone down in the books as a 0-0 tie, American University women's soccer sophomore Juliana Saling scored for the Eagles to lift them to a 1-0 double-overtime win over visiting UMBC. For her efforts, Saling has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week.

The goal was the first collegiate score for Saling, who lifted and crossed the ball into the upper right corner of the net after more than 107 minutes of scoreless soccer between AU and UMBC. 

Two days later, Saling registered three shots on goal in the Eagles' 1-1 double-overtime tie at Lafayette in Patriot League play.

AU is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19, hosting Army West Point at 1 p.m.
