WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer team opens Patriot League play against Boston University at Reeves Field on Saturday at 2 p.m.
AU enters into the league opener with a 1-6-1 overall record after falling 3-0 to West Virginia in the final non-league tune up on Tuesday.
Tim Neumann leads the Eagles with four points (1g, 2a), while Vinny Barone leads the team in shots with 17.
John Mino has seen a bulk of time in net totaling 684 minutes with seven starts in eight appearances. Mino has posted a 2.24 GAA with 29 saves.
On the other end of the sidelines, BU tallies a similar record of 1-5-1 prior to PL play with its lone win coming over Harvard.
Boston defender Adam Sheikali was a recent recipient of the PL Defender of the Week, after scoring the Terriers' first goal of the season against Crimson.
In four starts, BU keeper William Bonnelyche has earned a 1.50 GAA.
