WASHINGTON — The American University men's soccer team will hit the road for its first of three straight road non-conference games on Monday when they meet No. 19/17 South Florida.
The Eagles are coming off a 2-1 season-opening win over George Mason on Friday in the Kuykenstrong DC College Cup at Reeves Field. Senior Joe Iraola and sophomore Garrett Muzikowski scored for the Eagles in the first half. Senior Lucas Belanger made six saves for American.
South Florida will be without All-AAC First Team forward Nazeem Bartman, who was shown a red card in the Bulls' scoreless tie with Michigan on Friday. Christian Knight made three saves for USF against Michigan.
American will head back to the Mid-Atlantic and travel to Penn on Friday before meeting SMU on Sunday.
