Washington – American University Volleyball received its sixth Patriot League honor of the season, as Shannon Webb was recognized as the Rookie of the Week by the league office on Tuesday.  This is the second award of the season for the freshman, as she was named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 20.

The honor comes after a pair of road wins for the Eagles, who traveled to Lafayette and Bucknell last Friday and Saturday.  Webb helped carry the team to its 11th consecutive win, bringing AU to a 20-6 overall record, 10-0 in the conference.

Webb opened the weekend with a team-high 13 kills (.367) during the Eagles' 3-0 victory over Lafayette before going on to post nine kills and zero errors on 22 attempts to hit .409 in another straight-set win against Bucknell.  She totaled 22 kills, averaging 3.67 per set, to finish the week hitting .385.

The Eagles return to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 25, traveling to Navy for a 7 p.m. start.  The team will return home for a pair of matches this weekend, facing Holy Cross on Friday at 7 p.m. and Army at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
