Hart's Two Goals Extends American's Unbeaten Streak

Box Score

WASHINGTONJoel Hart found the back of the net twice and the No. 21 American University men's soccer team remains undefeated after a 2-0 win over No. 17 Hofstra on Friday evening at the Capitol Cup.

American (5-0-0) held the Pride off the score sheet as Dylan Hobert recorded his third straight shutout with eight saves.

AU pressed Hofstra from the start and took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute on a pass from Jordan Manley to Hart inside the box.

The goal was just the second allowed by Hofstra keeper Patric Pray this season.  Pray entered the game with a 0.25 goals against average.

American finished the game with a 22-17 edge in shots and controlled the corners, 4-2.

Midway through the second half, Liam Robley connected with Hart for his second tally of the game, this time it was a one-timer that beat Pray to the top corner.

American will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the finale of the Capitol Cup.
