WASHINGTON – American University women's basketball player Ari Booth has been chosen as the AU GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance in the Eagles' NCAA Tournament game against third-seed Iowa.
Booth, a junior guard from Pflugerville, Texas, scored a career-best 17 points against the Hawkeyes, knocking down a career-high five three-pointers. Fourteen of her points came in the first half, as she helped the Eagles take an early lead against the home team.
Booth, who played a career-high 31 minutes off the bench for American, shot 50 percent from beyond the arc and finished the game with three rebounds and two assists.
