Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Tie With Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Neither team found the back of the net in 110 minutes as the American University men's soccer team tied Army West Point, 0-0, in double overtime on Saturday night.

The Black Knights finished with an 11-7 edge in shots and both teams took seven corner kicks.

Senior Dylan Hobert made two saves and Army's Chris Britt made three.

Army's Cameron Niccum had a chance in the fourth minute, but his header was stopped by Hobert. With 19 seconds left in the frame, junior Panos Nakhid's shot on goal was held on by Britt.

The hosts held a 6-1 shot advantage in the opening 45 minutes until the Eagles regrouped and took five in the second.

Juniors Joe Iraola and Dale Ludwig had a shot each in the second half.

In the first overtime period, Cody Guerry took a shot with four seconds left that sailed wide of the net.

Army West Point had three corner kicks in the final 10 minutes, but neither headed towards goal. 

American will welcome Bucknell next Saturday for District Day at 1 p.m.
