Patriot League Full Release
Senior midfielder Stephen Hauschild was chosen
last week as a member of the Preseason All-Patriot League
Men's Soccer Team, the league announced recently.
Hauschild was among the 11 players selected in balloting by the
league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The senior from nearby Potomac, Md., was a third team
All-Patriot League pick a year ago.
The voters also selected American to finish fourth in the
league standings. Defending champion Navy earned the top spot and
garnered 17 first-place votes to edge Army and Bucknell.
American, which returns 10 players who started at least half
their games a year ago, will field a young squad this year,
including 14 freshmen among 22 underclassmen on the roster.
The Eagles open their regular season next Friday in the first
round of the #Kuykenstrong D.C. College Cup.
Howard will face George Mason at 2 p.m. on Friday at Reeves
Field, with American playing host to George Washington at 5
p.m.
AU faces the Patriots on Sunday at 3 p.m. following a match
between the Bison and Colonials at noon.
