The American University volleyball team went a perfect 2-0 on the weekend, continuing its win streak with a 3-0 sweep of Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon in Worcester, Mass.

With the victory the Eagles clinched a spot in the 2013 Patriot League Tournament, marking its 13th straight appearance in the postseason event since joining the conference in 2001.

Kristyna Lindovska led the team with eight kills and Kelly McCaddin hit .667 with seven kills and four blocks. Monika Smidova recorded 32 assists. Juliana Crum registered a team-high 12 digs and Crum and Megan Rosburg each added three service aces. The victory extends American's nine game win streak and is its 20th straight set win of the season.

American (27-2, 12-1 PL) took control in the first set, holding Holy Cross (7-19, 2-12 PL) to a -.040 hitting percentage as it jumped out to a 19-9 lead. The Eagles were able to shut out the Crusaders down the stretch on its way to a 25-14 win.

American improved its efficiency in the second set, hitting .393 while McCaddin and Lindovska combined 11 of their 15 kills in the set to take the 2-0 advantage into the intermission on a 25-12 win.

The Crusaders rallied in the third set as the two teams went back and forth. The Eagles ended the match on a 9-5 run led by Sarah Katz's three kills in the span, completing the sweep with a 25-19 win.

Alex Aycock led Holy Cross with eight kills with Emily Popp notching 12 digs. Katie McKernan paced the offense with 11 assists. The Crusaders were held to a .047 hitting percentage for the match while American hit .298.

American returns to Bender Arena for the first of the final three games of the regular season, facing Navy on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on Eagles Vison TV.
