Men's Basketball

2011 European Tour Homepage

The American University men's basketball team is set to embark on a 10-day European tour during which it will play four games in six days in three countries. The Eagles depart on Monday, August 15 and will travel to Prague, Czech Republic, Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary.

"This is a great opportunity to evaluate each of our players and work with different lineups," Head Coach Jeff Jones stated. "The most important part of this process from a basketball standpoint is the practices before we leave. We will have practiced for 10 days in advance of the trip and we are really looking forward to taking advantage of these opportunities to grow and get better as a team."

American's four games will be played against professional teams, beginning Wednesday, August 17 when the team tips off against Benesov of the Czech Republics' 2nd Division, 1 Liga. The Eagles will take to the court against Pilzen of the Czech 1st Division, NBL, on Thursday, August 18 before playing Arkadia Traiskirchen of Vienna's 1st Division, A Bundesliga. The team's final game will be played against Kecskemet of the Hungarian A Division on Monday, August 22.
