Sara Rishell earned her second
consecutive and third overall Molten Patriot League Rookie of the
Week award, conference officials announced Monday.
The Hagerstown, Md. native recorded a .500 hitting percentage
over the weekend, as the Eagles claimed their tenth Patriot League
Regular Season title in 11 seasons. Rishell hit .688 against
Lehigh, with 12 kills and one error, and also recording three
blocks and two aces. In Saturday's match against Lafayette,
she hit .364 with 12 kills.
She has recorded double digit kills in 23 matches and leads the
team with a .323 hitting percentage this season. The freshman also
leads the team in kills (3.21 kps) and blocks (0.93 bps).
Rishell also received a Patriot League Player of the Week award
earlier this season. She was also named the GEICO Student-Athlete
of the Week for her performance.
American will return to host the 2011 Patriot League Tournament
this weekend, where the team will seek its tenth Patriot League
title. The Eagles will face Colgate on Saturday, November 19 at 2
p.m. in the first semifinal match of the day.
