Video: Volleyball Continues to Roll, Takes Down Lehigh 3-0

The American University volleyball team continued to roll on Saturday, picking up its 13th straight win, 3-0 over Lehigh in Bender Arena. The victory came by set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-12.

Juliana Crum led American's (19-2, 7-0) offensive attack, scoring 14 kills and finishing the day with a .345 hitting percentage. Magdalena Tekiel chipped in 10 kills of her own, converting 16 attempts with zero errors for a .625 hitting percentage. Bianca Richardson contributed nine kills and hit .353 while Cassandra Ricketts notched six kills.

The Eagles recorded a team hitting percentage of .337, as Krysta Cicala and Alexandra Hammer dished out 22 and 15 assists, respectively. Lehigh (9-10, 3-4), meanwhile, was limited to a .129 hitting percentage with just 26 kills.

Deborah Frantz paced the Eagles on the defensive side of the net, notching 17 digs. Ricketts added 12 digs while Crum tallied eight. Katerina Cinkova recorded a team-high three block assists.

The Eagles's victory was their 13th straight and improves their record to 19-2, 7-0 in the Patriot League. American has won 39 of 42 sets during this streak, including each of the last 19. The team continues to keep pace with the 2001 squad which began the year 26-2 en route to a 26-4 overall record and the program's first Patriot League Championship.

The win also improves American to 10-0 in Bender Arena this season and is the team's 15th consecutive win at home dating back to last season. All 10 of American's triumphs in Bender this season have come in straight sets, and the Eagles have won 45 of 47 sets at home during the streak.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, October 20, traveling to Baltimore to take on UMBC. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start. Fans unable to make the match in person can follow the action via live video or live stats by clicking here.
