The American University men's soccer team lost to Bucknell, 1-0,
on Sunday afternoon in Lewisburg, Pa., in the Patriot League
Championship Game.
Bucknell (16-5-0, 5-2 PL) scored the lone goal of the match in
the 15th minute off a corner kick set. Brendan Burgdorf headed home
the goal with CK Kumah picking up the assist for the Bison.
Throughout the match, American (9-7-3, 4-2-1 PL) valiantly tried
for the game-tying goal and had several good scoring opportunities,
but was unable to get anything on the board. Bucknell goalkeeper
Tommy Caso picked up his ninth shutout of the season.
In the match, Bucknell outshot AU by a slim 16-14 margin, and
held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal. Cooper

Zizzi led the Eagles with two shots apiece.
Following the match, a trio of American seniors, Bryant, Petty
and Zizzi, were named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team for
their play this weekend. Bucknell's Patrick Selwood was selected as
the Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
