Ingram Lifts American Men's Basketball Past Bucknell In OT, 58-55

WASHINGTON (AP) - Andre Ingram scored 13 points, including American's final four points of regulation, helping the Eagles to a 58-55 overtime win over Bucknell Saturday.

The Eagles (7-8, 1-0 Patriot League) won despite turning the ball over 24 times, missing five free throws in overtime and fouling Kevin Bettencourt-the league's leading scorer-on a 3-point attempt with four seconds left in regulation and leading by two.

Bettencourt hit just two of the free throws for the Bison (3-10, 0-1) and was fortunate to see the game go into overtime after American's Jason Thomas missed a jumper at the end of regulation.

Charles Lee scored 18 points to lead Bucknell, which trailed by two three different times in the overtime.

Two free throws by Matej Cresnik with 58 seconds left in overtime gave the Eagles a 56-53 lead, which would grow as large as five before the Bison made one last comeback.

Abe Badmus scored with 9.1 seconds left and Bucknell, now losers of four straight, forced a jump-ball. However, Badmus and Lee each missed 3-pointers in the closing seconds.

Jernavis Draughn scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Eagles.
