Lindsey Campbell

Lindsey Campbell serves as Chief Development Officer for American University Athletics and is a member of the department’s senior staff. She leads all athletic fundraising for the department and 14 teams - with a focus on major and leadership giving, while also curating signature events such as the AU Athletics Hall of Fame, Tip-Off Dinner, and the Annual Golf Classic.

Since joining AU in 2022, Campbell has led Athletics to record-breaking results, including surpassing fundraising totals for three consecutive years. She guided the successful 2024 close of the Change Can't Wait Campaign for Athletics, which generated a total of $27.3 million. In 2024–25, seven of ten teams exceeded their fundraising goals, the Champions Fund grew by more than 90%, and the Eagles Leadership Council Board achieved 100% giving participation. AU Athletics also led the university’s Giving Day for the third straight year, raising over $400,000 from more than 2,500 donors—both institutional records.

A Pittsburgh native, Campbell previously held roles with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and fundraising and ticketing leadership roles at George Mason University, where she raised more than $3 million and set all-time giving records. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Mason and is completing her Ph.D. in higher education this Fall. In addition, she teaches undergraduate courses in sport management.
