Jenny Glenn was named the head coach of American University volleyball on March 5, 2026. She brings 20 years of collegiate coaching experience to AU, coming off a remarkable 10-season run at Metropolitan State University of Denver that saw her lead the Roadrunners to the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2025.
Glenn guided MSU Denver to the most successful campaign in program history, setting a program-record 32 wins on the way to the national title. The Roadrunners were nothing short of dominant, winning 30 consecutive sets in the middle of the season, and ending the run on a 23-match winning streak. MSU Denver achieved every major victory they could, capturing the RMAC regular-season title, the RMAC Tournament championship, and the NCAA South Central Regional crown before becoming the first RMAC team to win a national championship. The title run came after four straight seasons that ended in the NCAA South Central Regional final.Â
Individually, Glenn was recognized as the AVCA South Central Region Coach of the Year for the third time (2016, 2021, 2025). She guided three players to All-American selections (Annika Helf, Alyssa Boyte, and Karyna Werley), and six to All-RMAC spots, including the RMAC Defensive Player (Alyssa Boyte) of the Year and Freshman of the Year (Karyna Werley).
Over her 10 seasons in Denver, Glenn cemented herself as one of the top coaches in Division II volleyball. She posted a staggering 252-53 overall record and dominant 152-10 mark in RMAC play, and led the Roadrunners to four RMAC regular season titles, two RMAC Tournament titles, and nine NCAA appearances. She helped MSU Denver earn national recognition even before winning the NCAA championship, as the Roadrunners spent nine weeks ranked No. 1 in Division II (four weeks in 2022, five weeks in 2021) by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association, and have consistently ranked in the top 10 over Glenn’s tenure.Â
Glenn was named RMAC Coach of the Year four times in addition to three South Central Region Coach of the Year honors, and was voted Colorado Sportswomen College Coach of the Year twice. She also proved to be an elite developer of talent, overseeing the growth of 16 AVCA All-Region players and 13 AVCA All-Americans. Most notably, Glenn guided the spectacular career of outside hitter Ryle Hladky, who was a two-time All-American First Team selection in 2021 and 2022, and Riley Anderson, who was a three-time All-American from 2022-2024.Â
The veteran head coach brings 20 years of collegiate experience to AU, beginning with her time at Northern Colorado as an assistant coach and associate head coach from 2007 to 2015. She helped lead the Bears to the NCAA tournament four times, and was named interim head coach on two separate occasions due to paternity leave. Following the 2014 season, she earned an assistant coach role on the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team following the 2014 season.
Before entering the collegiate game, Glenn was the head coach for the 18 National Team at Sportsbridge Volleyball Club in Centennial, Colo, and she led the Crush Volleyball Club to a Junior National Qualification in 2006.Â
Glenn is a graduate of Truman State (Mo.), where she played collegiately and was a three-time All-MIAA and all-region selection.Â
