In her role, she leads the department's comprehensive athletics advancement program, overseeing fundraising strategy, major and leadership giving, annual philanthropy, capital and endowment initiatives, donor stewardship, and Eagles Leadership Council engagement in support of American's 16 varsity sport programs and nearly 400 student-athletes. Throughout her career, she has helped generate more than $10 million in support of intercollegiate athletics programs.

Since joining American University in 2022, Campbell has helped transform the department's approach to philanthropy, positioning fundraising as a strategic driver of student-athlete success, competitive excellence, and long-term institutional growth. She has led Athletics to record fundraising results, including three consecutive years of growth, while expanding engagement among alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the university. Under Campbell's leadership, American University Athletics has consistently achieved record levels of donor participation and philanthropic support, while enhancing signature engagement opportunities including the Athletics Hall of Fame, Tip-Off Dinner, Eagles Club Golf Classic, donor hospitality programs, and regional cultivation events. Her donor centric work focuses on building meaningful relationships that connect generations of Eagles with opportunities to invest in the student-athlete experience and the future of American Athletics.

Prior to joining American, Campbell held fundraising and revenue generation roles positions at George Mason University, both for Athletics and in University Advancement, where she contributed to record-setting fundraising efforts and  secured more than $3 million in philanthropic support.
