American University

Aidan Delehanty, a 2025 graduate of American University's School of Communication, was hired as the Director of Equipment Operations for AU Athletics in August of 2026 after spending just over a year as an Athletics Operations Manager with the the Facilities & Operations staff. Delehanty was a four-year swimmer for the Eagles, a team captain as a senior, and is a school record-holder in two events.

Throughout his career at American, Delehanty worked as a student assistant in a number of departments within Athletics, including Facilities & Operations, Athletics Communications, Athletics Equipment, and Recreation as a lifeguard. He holds school relay records in the 200 free and 200 medley relays, and inspired others by coming back after severe illness from an autoimmune deficiency diagnosed at the end of his freshman season.

Delehanty is a native of Rochester, N.Y., and is a four-year Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient who earned a bachelor's in journalism and political science.
