Jason Grimes, a 2017 and 2020 graduate of American University, is currently serving as an assistant coach for wrestling on an interim basis. Grimes also works in the Business Operations office for the athletics department. He was a four-year wrestler for the Eagles and an NCAA qualifier at 184 pounds as a senior after finishing fifth at the EIWA Championships.

Grimes finished his senior year 19-20 overall and 6-8 in duals. His 10 pins led the team and are tied for sixth on the Eagles' single-season list. He finished his career with 13 pins to rank 10th on the career list. Off the mat, Grimes was named Academic All-EIWA in 2016-17. In high school, Grimes was a two-time state champion for Holy Innocents' Episcopal School where he also played football and ran track.
