2023-24 (Graduate student) - Wrestled one final season after getting eligibility granted in the second semester... Competed at one open tournament and in four dual meets.

2022-23 (Graduate student) - Went 5-5 overall and had two major decision victories... Went 3-2 at the David F. Lehman F&M Open... Finished 2-2 at the Navy Classic with two major decisions.

Before AU - Attended Oregon State from 2020-22, going 1-1 in matches as a senior in his second year... Also wrestled for one year at the University of Dubuque, finishing that year at 7-1 overall.

High School - Wrestled for coaches Joe McKenna and Chris Kelly at Bishop Moore High School... Posted a 43-5 mark as a senior, and took third place in state... Wrestled at 160 pounds during his high school career.

Personal - Son of Marie and Edward Kata... Has one brother, Jimmy, and one sister, Alexandra... Earned a bachelor's degree in sociology at Oregon State and is working toward a master's degree at American.
