Michael Gaines enters his second season as an assistant women's soccer coach in the fall of 2025.
Gaines joined American from the Alexandria Soccer Association, where he works as a coach.Â
A graduate of Penn State University, Gaines was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, and he was twice named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. He graduated in 2023 with a degree in broadcast journalism, minoring in Spanish and sports studies. He was a member of the Schreyer's Honors College.
Originally from Oxon Hill, Md., Gaines is staying close to home to work with the Eagles. Gaines has his US Soccer D License.
