Maureen Breslin

Maureen Breslin, former AU Athletics assistant coach and current Assistant Dean of Online Programs in the Kogod School of Business, will be serving as Interim Head Lacrosse Coach for the 2020 season.  Breslin first came to American in 2003 and has served in a variety of roles across the university. From 2003-06, she served as an assistant field hockey coach and from 2007-15, she directed all academic support and life skills for the Academic Support & Access Center and Department of Athletics. 

Previously, Breslin was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Leshan, Sichuan, China. She also taught and coached high school in Pennsylvania.  A graduate of Bucknell University, she was a four-year starter for the field hockey team and also played one season of lacrosse.   

Breslin is a well-respected member of American University who has experience across many departments. With her background not only as a coach but as an academic support and life skills counselor, she is truly knowledgeable about the entire student-athlete experience. Breslin has remained a passionate supporter of AU's athletic programs and is excited to be able to bring that passion back to the field.
