Alix Lopez joined the AU women's lacrosse staff starting in the 2019-20 season, arriving in D.C. after a successful career at Florida where she graduated with honors with her bachelor's degree in sociology in May, 2019. A two-time Big East All-Academic Team honoree, Lopez helped lead the squad to four consecutive runs in the NCAA Tournament.

Lopez served as a summer coach with the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and worked as a coach and trainer with both Ripcurl Lacrosse (Sarasota, Fla.) and Legacy Lacrosse (Long Island, N.Y.).

She was also active in the community throughout her time with the Gators, volunteering with the Goodwill Gators Program and served as a mentor for the Friends of Jacklyn Foundation, both of which had her working with young cancer patients.
