Jordan Faimon joined the Athletic Training staff at American University in July of 2017. He is primarily responsible for working with volleyball, wrestling, men’s cross country and track & field, and the dance team.
Faimon came to American from South Dakota State University where he spent almost two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working primarily with the wrestling team. He earned his master’s degree in sport and recreation studies during this time and graduated in May of 2017. Before SDSU, Faimon earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Nebraska in 2015.
While completing his master’s, Faimon was a clinical instructor at SDSU for two entry-level graduate and two undergraduate athletic training students each semester. Along with that, he held first responder duty and management of pathogens during both team practices and conditioning.
During the summers of his undergraduate career, Faimon volunteered at the Jackrabbit Wrestling Club in Brookings, S.D. where he provided athletic training services for summer practices. In April of 2016, Faimon provided athletic training services for senior-level wrestlers at the USA Wrestling Olympic Team Trials in Iowa City. Additionally, during the summer of 2018 he provided athletic training services for summer wrestling practices for the District of Columbia Athletic Club.
Faimon is a member of both the District of Columbia Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
