The American University cross country and track program welcomed Danielle Gray as an assistant coach in November, 2017.
Gray came to AU from Navy, where she spent nearly three years as a volunteer track coach and camp coach.
Prior to her time at Navy, Gray worked as a strength and conditioning coach at George Mason and Georgetown and served as an assistant coach at Bloomsburg University from 2012-13.
During her time at Bloomsburg, she helped to develop one NCAA DII cross country championships qualifier, one NCAA DII indoor track championships qualifier, four DII NCAA outdoor track championships qualifiers, and two NCAA DII All-Americans. She also coached four all-region performers, five PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Champions, and 18 school-record performances.
Gray was also the head cross country and assistant track & field coach at the University of Southern Mississippi from 2008-09, and an assistant coach at the University of Alabama-Birmingham from 2007-08.
A successful student-athlete in her own right, Gray was a three-year letter winner during her undergraduate career at Auburn. She graduated in 2005 with a bachelor of science in education and went on to earn a master of science in kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2010.
