2022-23 (Senior) - Swam the anchor leg of the 400 free relay team that set the 14th-fastest time in program history at 3:31.11 at the Patriot Invitational… Swam anchor for the team that set the 11th-fastest and 16th-fastest 800 free relay times in program history at 7:41.72 during the Patriot Invitational and 7:45.26 at the PL Championships… Posted the third fastest 100 free time against Colgate at 56.61… Top times also included 1:55.41 (200 free), 5:13.93 (500 free), 59.52 (100 backstroke) and 2:09.30 (200 backstroke)... Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2021-22 (Junior) - Swam top time of 2:07.58 in the 200 backstroke at the Patriot Invitational… Had a season-best of 1:00.03 in the 100 backstroke at the Patriot Invitational… Came in sixth against Loyola Maryland (Oct. 9) in the 1,000 free with a time of 11:19.34… Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2020-21 (Sophomore) - Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll... Placed sixth in the 1,650 free at the Patriot League Challenge in 18:21.96... Placed 12th in the 500 free at the PL Challenge in a season top time of 5:15.07... Took third at the Holy Cross virtual meet in the 1,000 free (11:30.41)... Placed sixth in the 200 free at Loyola Maryland (2:06.54)... Posted the team's third-best time of the season (2:10.59) in the prelims of the 200 back at the PL Challenge.
2019-20 (Freshman) - Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll... Swam a time of 17:57.89 at the 2020 Patriot League Championships which ranks as the 14th-fastest personal best in program history... Earned a win in the 100 free at Howard with a time of 11:06.26.
Before AU - Swam for the Loyola Athletic Club (coach Nilda Vega) who were national champions in 2019... Made the Puerto Rican National Team (200 backstroke) and competed in the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships in 2019 (CCCAN)... Attended Academia María Reina in San Juan... Member of the National Honors Society and the National Italian Honors Society.
Personal - Daughter of Rita Garay and José Suarez... Mother, Rita, swam for the University of Alabama and was a two-time Olympian for Puerto Rico in 1988 and 1992... Has two sisters, Natalia and Carolina, and one brother, Lucas... Is majoring in business administration.
