2024-25 (Junior) - Had one of the top 25 cumulative GPAs in the athletic department for the 2024 academic year… Throughout the dual meet season took home three first-place finishes in two different events… Took the win in the 100 fly against Catholic and took first twice in the 200 fly against Howard and Georgetown… Was a B-finalist in the 200 fly at the George Mason Invitational, taking 11th… Ranked 11th in the 100 fly on the AU All-Time Top 16 List… Personal-best times included 50.60 (100 fly) and 1:51.68 (200 fly)... Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2023-24 (Sophomore) - Paced the team with the fastest 200 fly of the season – 10th-fastest in school history – in 1:51.91 at the Patriot League Championships… Notched the second-fastest 200 IM on the team with a 1:57.60 at the Patriot League Championships… Second-fastest swimmer on the team in the 400 IM with a 4:19.43 while taking second versus VMI… Swam his season-best 200 free in 1:47.40 and 500 free in 4:57.80 at Navy… Third fastest swimmer for American in the 100 fly, posting a 50.75 at the Patriot League Championships… Earned second place in the 100 fly in a dual against Catholic University… Earned first against VMI and second versus UMBC in the 200 fly... Before AU - Competed for the club swim team at William & Mary as a freshman there in 2022-23... Swam for Langley High School and the Machine Aquatics Swim Club... Top times are 1:44.23 (200 free), 1:53.91 (200 fly), 51.69 (100 fly) and 4:46.69 (500 free)... High school team was district and regional champions in 2021... Was an honors graduate, member of multiple honor societies and an AP Scholar with honor.
Personal - Majoring in biology at American... Son of Michael and Emiko Coughlin... Chose to transfer to AU because of the great team environment and to be part of a hard-working, competitive team.
