Sasha Liu started their first year as a coach for American University men's and women's swimming & diving during the 2024-25 season. Originally hailing from Tivoli, N.Y., they were a multi-time Speedo Sectional finalist for the Northern Dutchess Aquatic Club and a multi-time DUSO champion while an age group swimmer. Upon coming to AU, they focused on breaststroke and IM before retiring to become the team manager for the 2023-24 season. They graduated with a BS in Biology in 2024 and they are currently pursuing a MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology.

While in New York, Liu served as an assistant coach for the Northern Dutchess Aquatic Club, as well as the Associate Head Coach for the Red Hook Sea Raiders. Since moving to DC, they have worked with multiple Montgomery County Swim League teams and are currently the Head Assistant Coach for the Connecticut Belair Gators. They also provide private lessons in the DMVfor several club swimmers from RMSC and NCAP.
