Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO Nov. 5, 2007

After scoring two goals in the Patriot League Tournament to help her team win its fifth consecutive Patriot League title, freshman Christine Fingerhuth has been selected this week's American University Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO.

Fingerhuth tallied a marker in the quarterfinals versus Colgate, helping to lead the Eagles' vaunted offensive attack to a 4-1 victory over the Colgate Raiders on Jacobs Field. Then, in the Championship Game, Fingerhuth scored the game-winner off a scramble in front of the goal, which gave AU a 1-0 lead, one which they would never relinquish.

On the season, Fingerhuth has tallied 11 goals and three assists for 25 points, fourth-most on the squad and most by a freshman in the Patriot League.

Fingerhuth and the Eagles on Tuesday play at Ohio University in the NCAA Play-In game. The winner receives a berth into the NCAA Tournament, which begins Nov. 10 & 11 at sites to be determined.
